Innovative Test Solutions Launches Effort to Develop New Testing Protocols for 3-D Printed Materials
Kevin McEvoy Recruited as General Manager to Lead the Company’s Efforts
With an eye towards developing new testing procedures for additive manufacturing, commonly known as 3-D printing, Innovative Test Solutions (ITS) today announced it has hired Kevin McEvoy as the company’s General Manager.
McEvoy will oversee the company’s operations and lead the effort to expand the ITS business platform through the development of new testing methodologies to assist companies who are developing and using next generation manufacturing processes.
McEvoy has more than 20 years of experience with both General Electric and as a consultant creating, configuring, and improving industrial processes. As ITS looks to expand its offerings, Kevin will lead the company’s efforts to develop new testing procedures for 3-D printed parts that are now widely used in the aerospace, power generation and automotive industries.

Scott Briody, Vice President and CEO of ITS said, “We are constantly looking to grow and evolve our company and bringing on someone with the deep and multi-faceted skill set that Kevin possesses is a huge win for ITS. We are excited to have him on board as we look to expand our testing services to meet the needs of our current and future clients.”
ITS general manager Kevin McEvoy said, “ITS has always been on the cutting edge of the testing industry and I’m honored to have the opportunity to join a team that is constantly innovating. As we look to the future, additive manufacturing is a rapidly growing market segment and I’m excited to apply our expertise and ingenuity towards finding new testing solutions that will provide world-class certainty for our clients.”
Additive manufacturing is now being very heavily used in commercial and military aircraft to make parts with higher efficiency and to create legacy parts that are no longer available from the manufacturer. This technology enables advanced technology product manufacturing as well as enabling companies to be more efficient. ITS is looking to develop non-destructive processes to test these parts and McEvoy will lead the effort.
Kevin McEvoy has more than 20 years of experience working in a variety of roles for GE, including time spent working at GE Aviation, GE Power, the GE Global Research Coatings Laboratory, and the GE Global Research Materials Laboratory, in addition to being a consultant.
