New Capabilities: Digital Image Correlation System

A Digital Image Correlation System being used for optical analysis, displaying the measurements of strain for materials.

Innovative Test Solutions Inc. has recently purchased a Digital Image Correlation System (DIC). DIC is an optical analysis tool that uses the evaluation of sequential digital images for measurements of deformation, strain, and displacement. This tool complements or replaces the use of strain gauges, LVDT’s, accelerometers, and other contacting deformation sensors in order to provide experimental data to compare and validate FEA.
